Overview:
The Night Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring guest satisfaction and operational efficiency during the night shift. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at providing exceptional service to guests while maintaining the integrity of financial transactions and property security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding guest service to enhance the overall experience.
- Conduct financial reconciliations for the front desk, dining facilities, and retail outlets as directed by corporate accounting standards.
- Perform regular security inspections of the property to ensure guest safety.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the property’s amenities and services, including the dining options available.
- Be knowledgeable about other facilities and activities within the resort.
- Respond to guest inquiries regarding resort services, registration, and local attractions.
- Facilitate reservations for dining, transportation, and entertainment as needed.
- Utilize the computerized guest management system and handle various office equipment efficiently.
- Ensure the front desk and lobby areas are well-presented and organized.
- Welcome, register, and assign accommodations to guests, providing them with room keys.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and messages, and manage phone communications.
- Handle walk-in reservations and coordinate with central reservations for any modifications.
- Post charges related to accommodations, dining, and other services, ensuring clear communication of all transactions.
- Accurately compute guest bills, process payments, and manage cash handling responsibilities.
- Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to monitor room availability and address guest needs.
- Safeguard guests' valuables in the hotel safe upon request.
- Be adaptable to assist in various departments as necessary to support team objectives.
- Successful performance in this role requires the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively.
- Previous experience or training in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to apply logical reasoning to follow instructions in various formats.
- Capable of addressing common issues related to guest accommodations.
- Proficient in identifying and resolving basic discrepancies in financial postings.
The physical requirements necessary for this position include:
- Frequent grasping, writing, standing, walking, and repetitive motions.
- Continuous communication with guests and team members, requiring strong listening and speaking skills.
- Regular visual tasks, particularly near vision and depth perception.
- Ability to use hands for reaching, climbing, balancing, kneeling, and other physical activities.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to five pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
