About the Role

Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled Senior Industrial Hygienist to join our team in Los Angeles or Irvine. As a key member of our Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) team, you will be responsible for developing relationships with client stakeholders, identifying and pursuing business opportunities, and providing expert advice on industrial hygiene and safety services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to grow the Hazardous Building Services practice in the Southern California area and nationally.
  • Provide expert advice on industrial hygiene and safety services, including chemical exposure assessments, noise surveys, asbestos, lead-paint, hazardous building materials, IAQ/mold consulting services, and compliance work.
  • Oversee the preparation of complex project proposals, reports, and deliverables, and coordinate with in-house consultants, client representatives, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor staff in the IH consulting discipline, providing training and management support to ensure the highest level of expertise and service delivery.
  • Partner with other internal Arcadis business lines to grow the Regulated Building Materials market sector presence.
Requirements
  • BS in physical sciences or industrial hygiene, safety, environmental sciences, or related science or engineering fields, or equivalent years of experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in a client-oriented consulting environment with focus on industrial hygiene practice, specifically asbestos, lead-paint, hazardous building materials management, indoor air quality and mold evaluations, and chemical exposure assessments.
  • State of California Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) and State of California Lead Inspector/Assessor certifications.
  • Proven experience in developing new business, marketing, networking, and building new relationships.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to deliver effective presentations and trainings, and to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. of equipment over the duration of a work shift.
  • Proven experience managing, mentoring, and leading teams at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) or the ability to obtain CIH within one year of hire.
  • Current membership with associations related to Industrial Hygiene.
  • General understanding of HVAC systems, building mechanical systems, building construction, and building renovation and demolition.
  • Ability to work on teams as well as independently with minimal direct supervision.
  • Properly trained in the NIOSH 582 or 582 Equivalent course.
  • Knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, and state regulations for asbestos, etc.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $112,240-168,360.
