About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Robotics Research Director to join our team at SWRI. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for leading internal research programs to extend the state of the art in various areas of robotics and automation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in robotics and automation, as well as excellent leadership and mentoring skills. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading internal research programs
  • Mentoring colleagues to raise the bar for research and development
  • Pursuing new research directions for current and emerging technologies
  • Designing, implementing, and testing advanced robotic technologies

A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Robotics, Mechatronics, Controls, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other robotics-related degree is required. 8-18 years of industry, academic, or government research experience in autonomous/automated vehicles or robotics is also necessary.

A salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year is estimated based on the job requirements and industry standards.
