Position Overview:
As the Senior Vice President of Finance and Accounting, you will oversee the organization's financial operations, ensuring compliance with all accounting regulations and reporting standards. Your expertise will guide the management of financial documentation, tax obligations, internal audits, budgets, and strategic financial planning. This pivotal role involves assessing financial risks and shaping internal policies, procedures, and controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the month-end close process, including the preparation of the close calendar, monitoring deliverables, reviewing journal entries, and conducting account reconciliations.
- Manage stock-based compensation expenses and ensure adherence to financial regulations.
- Prepare and manage financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Lead and mentor a geographically dispersed team to achieve objectives within established timelines.
- Develop and enhance processes and controls to improve the quality and efficiency of financial reporting.
- Supervise the purchase order and accounts payable processes to ensure accurate coding and timely payments.
- Conduct financial risk assessments and manage internal audit processes.
- Coordinate with external and internal auditors for the annual audit.
- Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) on forecasts and additional analyses.
- Assist in drafting technical accounting memos and integrating new accounting standards into operational practices.
- Support the implementation of accounting policies and ensure that internal controls are well-documented and regularly reviewed.
- Drive initiatives to strengthen the control environment and enhance technological solutions.
- Lead cross-functional projects, including the design of end-to-end processes and system implementations.
- Prepare for tax return submissions and support various ad-hoc projects as needed.
- Proficient in financial software and technology, particularly ERP systems (Netsuite preferred) and month-end close tools (Floqast preferred).
- Strong understanding of financial and accounting standards.
- Exceptional leadership abilities and a collaborative approach within the finance team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, including exposure to publicly traded and SaaS companies.
- Experience with Big 4 public accounting firms is highly desirable (3-5 years preferred).
- CPA certification is required.
- Proactive problem-solver with a hands-on approach to delivering results and supporting future growth.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookup.
- Technical accounting experience related to ASC 842 and ASC 815.
- Knowledge of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) revenue accounting and ASC 606.
Compensation and Benefits:
Vectra offers a competitive total rewards package that includes a salary range of $241,000-$284,000 USD, based on experience and location.
