Position Overview

Role: Head Coach for Girls Basketball - Grade 8

Reports To: Director of Athletics

Employment Type: Part-Time, Seasonal

Position Summary: The Head Coach for Grade 8 Girls Basketball will collaborate closely with the Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach to elevate the basketball programs at both the Junior High and High School levels. This role involves strategizing, developing, mentoring, and guiding student-athletes and coaching personnel within the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute a comprehensive plan aimed at the growth of student-athletes.
  • Dedicate time to foster relationships with players and coaches across all tiers.
  • Exhibit a willingness to learn and work collaboratively with the girls' basketball coaching team.
  • Ensure adherence to OHSAA guidelines and regulations.
  • Promote a culture of excellence both on and off the court.

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Prior coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level is preferred.
  • Background as a former basketball player is advantageous.
  • Seeking candidates who bring enthusiasm, energy, and strong leadership qualities.
  • Comfortable engaging in a diverse, multi-denominational community.
