Position Overview
As an International Student Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Admissions office by acting as a Designated School Official (DSO). Your primary responsibilities will include preparing SEVIS I-20 Forms for prospective international students and maintaining comprehensive records to ensure compliance with U.S. immigration regulations.

Key Responsibilities
1. **DSO Duties**: Conduct interviews with international students and their families to evaluate their needs for SEVIS I-20 issuance related to admissions, transfers, or status changes.
2. **Advising**: Provide guidance to international students on a range of issues, including personal and financial needs, academic challenges, immigration matters, health insurance, and financial aid options.
3. **Monitoring Compliance**: Oversee all international student SEVIS activities, including audits and status alerts, while serving as a liaison between the institution and federal/state agencies.
4. **Documentation Review**: Assess prospective students' documents to verify eligibility for Student Visas according to immigration policies.
5. **Record Management**: Maintain an organized filing system for currently enrolled international students, ensuring all files are complete and ready for audits each semester.
6. **Progress Monitoring**: Track the academic progress of international students to ensure compliance with immigration regulations.
7. **Data Management**: Process the import and export of student records to SEVIS, ensuring data integrity and compliance with Department of Homeland Security regulations.
8. **Program Coordination**: Assist in planning and facilitating international student programs, including orientations and workshops.

Qualifications
- **Education**: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 2 years in a post-secondary institution, including at least 1 year of SEVIS experience. Experience in program development and providing services to diverse populations is preferred.
- **Skills**: Proficiency in MS Office, information management systems, and budget management. Bilingual abilities are a plus.
