About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Development Director to join our team at Teach For America. As a key member of our Revenue and Development team, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of a comprehensive fundraising strategy for our Metro Atlanta region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Fundraising Strategy: Set vision, strategy, and plan for cultivating a portfolio of donors, incorporating input from the Executive Director and Vice President, Field Fundraising, with the goal of maximizing revenue to the organization.
  • Manage and Cultivate Donor Relationships: Manage, cultivate, steward, and solicit (when appropriate) a portfolio of donors, with a focus on building strong relationships and securing significant gifts.
  • Collaborate with Executive Director and Advisory Board: Work in close partnership with the local Executive Director to build relationships necessary to advance fundraising efforts, including local advisory board members.
  • Track and Analyze Fundraising Data: Consistently maintain donor, prospect, and fundraising activity information in our customer relationship management system and leverage this information in tracking progress, monitoring gaps, and adjusting strategy and approach.
Requirements
  • 7+ Years of Development and Fundraising Experience: At least 7+ years of related experience in development and fundraising context, with a track record of meeting and exceeding ambitious goals as a donor portfolio manager.
  • Relationship Building and Management: Highly skilled relationship builder, particularly with external prospects and donors, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fundraising and Development Expertise: Specialize in best practices of development and fundraising, with a track record of successfully navigating complex philanthropic landscapes to reach revenue goals.
