Retail Sous Chef

Summary: Assist the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking food, coordinate kitchen activities, and supervise food-service associates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Cook and prepare food according to approved recipes and production standards, ensuring timely completion of production orders.
- Supervise hourly food-service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and recommending disciplinary action as needed.
- Store food in designated areas, adhering to corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures.
- Clean and sanitize equipment, supplies, and utensils, and keep workstations clean and organized.
- Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner, relaying relevant information to supervisors.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to associates and customers.
- Monitor inventory and deliveries of products and supplies, tracking production, consumption, and waste, and informing supervisors when supplies are low.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
