Qualifications

To be considered for the Assistant Teacher position, candidates must possess:

  • The ability to support teachers during rest periods while ensuring child safety.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology, such as tablets, for daily reporting.

Educational requirements include:

  • A High School Diploma with a minimum of 12 credits in Early Childhood Development or a related field.
  • A Child Development Certificate or higher is preferred.
Responsibilities

The Assistant Teacher will assist the lead teacher in various duties, including but not limited to:

  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the classroom.
  • Providing active supervision of children at all times.
  • Assisting in gathering educational resources.
  • Supporting food service staff during meal distribution.
  • Completing opening and closing checklists.
  • Ensuring classroom equipment is well-maintained.
  • Implementing emergency procedures as outlined by the school.
  • Encouraging healthy eating habits during meals and snacks.
  • Ensuring compliance with state ratio requirements for child supervision.
  • Addressing minor spills and cleaning during non-active hours.
  • Adhering to the school's behavior policy.
  • Promoting empathy and respect for others and the environment through positive role modeling.
  • Valuing cultural and ethnic diversity.
  • Encouraging learning through play and educational goals.

This position offers flexible hours, typically ranging from 10 to 20 hours per week, with shifts available in the morning and afternoon.

Compensation

Pay is set at $21.00 per hour.

Work Environment

This role requires in-person attendance at our facility.
