Child Support Specialist with Family Advocacy Role

Job DescriptionAs a Child Support Specialist, you will work under the direction of the Family Resources Supervisor to provide support functions that maintain and track paperwork required for the Family Resource teams. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Creating, maintaining, and retrieving alphabetical case files, including filing necessary paperwork, data entry, and upkeep of file storage areas.
- Approving and entering IDHS childcare certificates into the Child Care Tracking System, identifying discrepancies and payment issues.
- Maintaining records and databases related to W9/CANTS/IVR forms, running reports as needed, and ensuring appropriate actions are taken with providers who meet or do not meet qualifications.
- Processing weekly IDHS and internal reports, ensuring file compliance, and maintaining records of quarterly Springfield shipment projects.
- Ensuring confidentiality of parent and provider information, adhering to all Illinois Action for Children and IDHS policies and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two to three months of related experience and/or training.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and databases.
