The Grants Financial Analyst is essential in working alongside educational institutions and corporate office teams to maintain effective operational and financial protocols. This role is vital for ensuring uniformity in data collection and analytical processes related to all grants. The individual will be responsible for upholding a robust accounting record system and a thorough set of controls, which are crucial for the financial stability of the organization. The position reports directly to the Head of Grants & Compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guarantee proper categorization and optimal use of funds in accordance with all funding stipulations.
  • Oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes for grants.
  • Gather and evaluate data to provide ongoing insights into grant expenditures and mitigate revenue losses due to underspending.
  • Collaborate with various departments to enhance the understanding of grant-funded expenditures.
  • Prepare essential reports and deliver analyses to leadership.
  • Assist in the monthly and annual financial reporting procedures.
  • Supply the Accounting team with necessary documentation to facilitate the month-end closing process.
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations.
  • Promote efficiencies in Grants Management by automating tasks wherever feasible.
  • Offer ad hoc financial and business decision support as required by the Controller & CFO, along with other departmental leaders.
  • Provide audit and review assistance for the annual fiscal audit and any ad-hoc governmental procedures.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 2-3 years of pertinent experience in accounting or financial analysis.
  • Experience in both non-profit and private sectors is welcomed.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, and Slides, with experience in financial modeling.
  • Strong comprehension of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and reconciliation processes.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar reporting systems.
  • Comfortable working with large data sets that have complex structures.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple intricate budgets while understanding their interconnections and overlapping restrictions.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication skills are essential; the candidate must convey financial information clearly and effectively to various leaders within the organization.
  • Able to balance overarching objectives with precise details to communicate messages in an easily understandable manner.
  • Direct, honest, and supportive in communications, taking ownership of the accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Adaptable to a high-growth environment with shifting responsibilities and frequent priority changes.

Compensation Information

Annual Salary: $90,000 - $105,000.00

Compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
