Job Title: Patient Access Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Patient Access Coordinator to join our team at Madison Approach. As a Patient Access Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth registration process for patients. Your primary responsibility will be to collect patient demographics and insurance information, registering patients for medical treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Create a positive first impression by greeting patients warmly and professionally
* Demonstrate excellent telephone etiquette when answering internal and external calls
* Interview patients to gather necessary information for registration
* Perform accurate data entry of patient demographic information and medical insurance
* Notify insurance companies of inpatient admissions and outpatient services
* Handle printing and distribution of admission/registration forms, face sheets, and labels
* Obtain and witness signatures for insurance assignments and guarantor statements
* Ensure timely data entry and changes to patient information
* Participate in quality assurance activities to review registration data for accuracy

Requirements:

* Minimum 1 year of office/clerical experience
* Minimum 6 months of healthcare experience, including insurance verification
* Knowledge of medical insurance, EMTALA regulations, and hospital billing and collection processes
* Proficiency in Cerner Millennium and Microsoft Office products
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
