Job Summary:

A Patient Service Coordinator is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced medical office environment. Key responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying appointment information, and notifying nursing staff as needed. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and verify appointment information
  • Notify nursing staff of patient arrivals and updates
  • Register new patients and assist with completion of necessary forms
  • Verify and update patient information in the EMR system
  • Scan completed forms and identification into patient documents folder
  • Schedule future appointments based on procedure type and provider schedules
  • Answer incoming phone calls and make outbound calls to gather information
  • Utilize triage system for patient care related calls
  • Initiate and verify patient referrals and insurance authorization/pre-certifications
  • Accept payments and issue receipts
  • Monitor patient flow and communicate with patients regarding delays or issues
  • Provide translation services for non-English speaking patients and families
  • Perform general office duties, including document preparation and filing
Requirements:
  • Minimum of one year of customer service and/or medical office experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred
  • Bilingual candidates preferred, but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
