Job Title: Fire Protection Fabricator

Shambaugh & Son L.P., a leading construction/engineering firm, is seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our team in Youngstown, OH.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Fabricator to work in our fire fabrication shop, responsible for fabricating pipe for fire protection systems by cutting, threading, weld checking each pipe, and bundling pipe for each job.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use various machinery to fabricate pipe
  • Study and interpret assembly instructions to ensure accuracy
  • Listen to directions from supervisors and follow safety protocols
  • Fabricate and assemble pipe per instructions, ensuring all parts are fitted and screwed in properly
  • Read parts lists and determine if all parts are present, resolving any discrepancies
  • Assemble tools, materials, and various components, interpreting measurements and verifying specifications
  • Ensure working environment is clean and safe, reporting errors in production
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
  • Read a tape measure down to a 1⁄4"
  • Be dependable, with good attendance and a positive attitude
  • Good work ethic and a willingness to learn, with the ability to communicate ideas, thoughts, etc. both verbally and in written form
  • Must be able to work Saturday (will count against attendance record if missed)
  • Must be 18 years or older, with attention to detail and the ability to follow directions and communicate with others
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and stand, bend, twist, and walk for 8-12 hour shifts
  • Ability to pass a drug test
