Job Title: Behavioral Health Access and Assessment Nurse

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Behavioral Health Access and Assessment Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our Behavioral and Mental Health team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of behavioral health services across our system.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expertise in behavioral and medical needs assessment for behavioral health patients, identifying placement barriers and recommending the most appropriate treatment setting.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders systemwide to support efficient behavioral health throughput, from admission to discharge.
  • Develop and implement data-driven solutions to improve access and disposition planning, working closely with the Behavioral and Mental Health leadership team.
  • Lead change management efforts, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation across the system.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless communication and coordination across departments.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Massachusetts, required.
  • 5+ years of experience in inpatient psychiatry unit and/or emergency department, with a focus on behavioral health assessment and service coordination.
  • Proven track record of leadership and project management experience, with a strong understanding of data analytics and system-wide capacity management.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with an attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with intra-inter and outside hospital personnel.
  • Ability to manage critical issues relating to patient care and changing organization climate.
  • Experience with data analytics and a commitment to operating within a highly transparent and visible data-driven decision-making environment.
