The Lead Material Planner is responsible for recognizing, analyzing, and consolidating all demand signals into a comprehensive demand plan for the site.
This role entails:
- Managing detailed material requirements for each component, whether sourced from external or internal vendors, intermediate products, or internally produced shipping items.
- Communicating priorities through production schedules and supplier timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Order Management: Ensure material availability, documentation readiness, and delivery confirmations.
- Maintain alignment of material availability with approved production schedules.
- Oversee daily MRP for all BOM materials and analyze requirements.
- Own MRP-related data and technical materials.
- Ensure availability of safety stock and cycle stock for incoming materials.
- Coordinate with warehouse and Quality departments to complete relevant activities in line with production needs.
- Manage planning and logistics for sample testing at external sites.
- Monitor and follow up on supplier service level indicators, including Quality OTIF and lead times.
- Oversee material transfers between Novartis sites for both commercial and clinical purposes.
- Conduct write-off activities for expired and unused materials and commercial batches.
- Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of raw materials using Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Lead initiatives to achieve supplier delivery performance targets and promote continuous improvement.
- Actively support the global Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in material planning.
- Familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 and SAP.
- Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering, or Business Management.
Location: Indianapolis, IN (Onsite role)
Compensation: $39.46/hour
Contract duration: 6+ months
