As a Physician Assistant in our Cardiovascular ICU, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of healthcare professionals who share your passion for delivering high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for assessing patients, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Assessing patients for changes in condition and implementing appropriate interventions, including emergency care.
- Performing procedures such as chest tubes, arterial catheters, central venous catheters, pulmonary artery catheters, temporary pacemakers, airway management, and defibrillation.
- Participating in the pre-, peri-, and postoperative management of cardiac transplant, VAD, MCS, and ECMO patients in the CVICUs.
- Contributing to quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience as an APRN or PA in Critical Care, with a willingness to learn CV side.
- A Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nursing with Acute Care Certification.
- Board Certification through NCCPA, ANCC, or AACN.
- Experience with transplant patients, L-VAD, Circulatory Assist Device, CABGs (highly preferred).
- ECMO experience (highly preferred).
- BLS, ACLS, CALS, FCCS, certifications or eligible.
