Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Surgery PA-C or APRN-RNFA to join our team at AdventHealth Orlando. As a key member of our cardiovascular surgery team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including surgical preparation, peri-operative and post-operative procedures, and assisting in cardiovascular surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient and family education on pre-operative procedures, surgery, recovery, and risk factor modification.
  • Conduct history and physical examinations, and record and interpret pertinent data, including lab results and diagnostic studies.
  • Assist in performing cardiovascular surgical procedures, including vein and radial artery harvesting, and first assisting with CABG, valve, aortic, and thoracic surgery.
  • Manage patients pre- and post-implantation for Ventricular Assist Devices and Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.
  • Manage patients undergoing Trans Catheter Valve Procedures.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in physician assistant studies.
  • Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) experience required.
  • Practicing experience as a cardiothoracic/cardiovascular surgery PA required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
  • Strong communication and medical decision-making skills.
