Role Overview: Associate Teacher

The Associate Teacher will support the Lead Teacher in creating a positive and enriching learning environment for young children. This role involves assisting with educational activities, managing classroom dynamics, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Classroom Support:
    • Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and executing a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
    • Help create a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment.
    • Support the management of classroom behavior using positive discipline techniques.
  • Child Development:
    • Assist in observing and documenting each child's progress and development.
    • Support the implementation of individualized learning plans as directed by the Lead Teacher.
  • Family Engagement:
    • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers about their child's progress and any concerns.
  • Professional Development:
    • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
    • Stay current with early childhood education best practices and licensing requirements.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and other staff to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSet, or TASC).
  • Thirty hours of training in child growth and development, granted by an accredited college or university, an authorized provider of the International Association for Continuing Education and Training or obtained through documented life experience.
  • Meet one of the following criteria as per NH childcare licensing guidelines:
    • Written documentation from or on file with the department that she or he was qualified and employed as an associate teacher.
    • A minimum of 9 credits in related coursework, including at least one 3 credit course in child or human growth and development.
    • Current certification as para II educator by the department of education.
    • A minimum of 1000 hours of supervised child care experience in a licensed child care program.
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary is around $45,000-$60,000, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, health savings account (matching), paid time off, and professional development assistance.
