VSC Fire and Security is seeking a highly skilled Accounts Payable Manager to oversee the timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing and supervising the accounts payable department, ensuring compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and Supervise: Lead the accounts payable team, ensuring the efficient processing of invoices and payments, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors.
- Reconcile and Report: Reconcile accounts payable transactions, prepare reports, and assist in month-end closing activities.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounts payable function.
- Training and Development: Train, mentor, and develop accounts payable staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to company policies.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all payments and records comply with internal policies, relevant accounting standards, and legal requirements.
- System Implementation: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounts payable systems, working closely with IT and other departments to streamline processes.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing documentation and explanations as required during audits.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the construction, fire protection, or security industry is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounts payable software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a proven track record of developing high-performing teams, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
