Manufacturing Operations Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY
As a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in managing the daily functions of our modular housing production facility. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that production metrics related to efficiency, cost-effectiveness, safety, and quality are consistently achieved. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in manufacturing, strong leadership capabilities, and a commitment to excellence.
- Base salary range: $80,000-$100,000 based on experience
- Performance-based bonus: 10%
- Work location: On-site

As a majority Black-owned enterprise based in Southern California, SoLa Impact is on track to establish the first standardized modular housing factory in the area.

Key Responsibilities
- Encourage innovative thinking, challenge conventional methods, and collaborate with the team to shape the future of modular housing.
- Oversee and guide a team of production technicians, establishing clear expectations and providing support to achieve production goals.
- Manage daily production schedules to ensure timely product delivery while optimizing resource allocation.
- Implement and uphold strict safety protocols and best practices to maintain a secure work environment.
- Quickly identify and resolve production challenges, applying corrective measures to minimize downtime and uphold product quality.
- Work with the production planning team to align material and labor needs.
- Mentor and develop production team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skill enhancement.
- Conduct regular performance assessments and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Monitor production expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements.
- Maintain precise production documentation and reporting.
- Collaborate closely with quality control to ensure products meet or exceed established quality benchmarks.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 5 years of experience in manufacturing.
- Demonstrated experience as a production supervisor or in a similar capacity within a manufacturing setting, with direct oversight of an hourly workforce.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment in a production and assembly environment.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make swift, informed decisions and effectively solve problems.
- Proficient in using computer systems such as ERP, MRP, MES, QMS, and WMS, along with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
- Capability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
- Engagement in repetitive assembly tasks, including standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying.
