Overview:

The EOC College Transition Coach is essential in delivering extensive support services to participants, with the goal of improving secondary education completion, increasing financial aid applications, and enhancing college admissions and enrollment rates for residents in the Oklahoma City area and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist potential participants in filling out intake forms to evaluate needs and establish eligibility for programs.
  • Conduct assessments and interviews to understand individual student characteristics and requirements.
  • Develop tailored Individual Educational Plans to steer students towards enrollment in postsecondary programs.
  • Provide insights on educational alternatives such as GED preparation and other educational pathways.
  • Offer comprehensive case management and academic coaching to participants.
  • Collaborate with various student support services to meet participant needs effectively.
  • Facilitate workshops focused on study skills, time management, and preparation for college.
  • Support and advocate for diverse student populations, providing specialized assistance as needed.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field along with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience or equivalent qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience: A degree in social work or higher education is preferred. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are advantageous. Previous experience in student support services or higher education environments is beneficial.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: A solid understanding of GED preparation, college admissions, financial aid processes, and career counseling is required. Proficiency in software applications, databases, and data reporting systems is essential. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills are crucial.
