A reputable community financial institution is looking to fill the role of a full-time Commercial Credit Underwriter, with a hybrid work arrangement.

The Commercial Credit Underwriter will be tasked with evaluating credit data for existing and prospective borrowers, assessing the feasibility of extending credit across various loan types, and supporting loan officers in conducting financial assessments and underwriting processes. The primary goal is to uphold and safeguard the quality of the bank's assets.

Present loan evaluations to the Loan Committee and Board of Directors while collaborating effectively with loan officers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and review financial documents, tax filings, and forecasts that back commercial loan proposals.

Maintain a strong understanding of diverse financial statements and tax returns, with a commitment to staying updated on emerging tax regulations and financial assessment techniques.

Conduct thorough underwriting reviews of commercial loan applications.
Actively engage in the presentation and discussion of commercial loan applications with the Loan Committee and Board of Directors.

Execute annual reviews of significant commercial loan accounts, providing written analyses and recommendations regarding loan classifications and necessary actions.

Work collaboratively with various departments within the bank to complete assigned tasks.

Communicate with loan officers during the evaluation of loan proposals, relay evolving expectations from the loan committee, and enhance loan officers' comprehension of credit criteria and current underwriting practices.

Ensure compliance with Credit Policy.
Perform additional duties as required.

Familiarity with nCino is advantageous.
Preferred experience in a community banking environment.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Commercial Underwriting.
Knowledge of loan documentation and various credit structures is essential.
Experience with LaserPro and/or Wolters Kluwer is a plus.
Must be self-sufficient and capable of working independently.
