Job Title: Peer Support Specialist Pickens GA

We are seeking an experienced Peer Support Specialist to join our team in Pickens, GA. This role plays a vital part in assisting clients in their recovery process, crisis intervention, and creating personalized treatment plans.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting clients in uncovering their purpose beyond identified mental illness or substance use
  • Discovering possibilities of recovery
  • Tapping into individual strengths related to illness self-management
  • Emphasizing hope and wellness
  • Helping individuals develop and work toward achievement of specific personal recovery goals

The selected candidate will also provide support in preventing setbacks, be an active member of the treatment team, and collaborate with other Georgia HOPE staff and community partners to ensure effective treatment and service provision.

Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a mental health condition and/or substance use disorder, be in recovery, open-minded, and willing to share personal experiences publicly
  • Must be a High School Graduate or have GED
  • Must have a valid driver's license in the state of employment with a safe driving record
  • Must have successfully completed state-specific Peer Specialist training and exam
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary of $40,000 - $55,000 per year, based on experience
