Job Summary

The Telecommunications Representative is a key member of the AtlantiCare team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to patients, visitors, and staff. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct incoming calls in a timely and courteous manner
  • Provide accurate and concise information to callers, including directions and instructions
  • Assist patients with phone activation and basic phone features
  • Monitor and respond to emergency situations, including codes and traumas
  • Log events and maintain accurate records
  • Perform daily tests of trauma pagers and record TV/telephone repairs
  • Assist with on-call scheduling and maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience in customer service or call center environment preferred
  • Basic knowledge of computers and keyboard skills
  • Pleasant speaking voice and ability to work in a busy environment

Working Conditions

The Telecommunications Representative will work in a hospital environment, potentially exposed to infectious diseases, hazardous substances, and physical hazards. The ability to sit in a confined area for extended periods is required.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Telecommunications Director.
