SUMMARY: The Karate Instructor plays a crucial role in leading karate sessions, ensuring a safe, effective, and enjoyable environment for a diverse group of participants.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct assigned karate classes for members.
• Build positive relationships with participants to tailor classes and promote engagement and growth.
• Manage class-related responsibilities, including attendance tracking and necessary documentation.
• Collaborate with all fitness personnel to deliver exceptional service to members.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure a robust program within established guidelines.
• Participate in all mandatory departmental meetings and training sessions.
• Support the mission of the Association: 'to provide social, physical, and recreational activities and services for members and their families.'
• Be open to performing additional duties as required.
• Strive for member satisfaction in line with the Association's mission.
• Embrace and exemplify the core values and vision of Four Seasons through professional conduct.
• Maintain a positive atmosphere for all members, staff, and guests.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated expertise and technical proficiency in the Shotokan style of karate, suitable for the needs of assigned classes.
• Minimum age of 16 years.
• Strong judgment, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• CPR/AED certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment and maintained throughout tenure.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role typically operates within exercise, recreation, and office settings. Regular exposure to swimming pool odors and loud music in fitness areas is expected. The position may require varying hours and days, with occasional travel around the community for outreach activities. Exposure to bodily fluids or physical exertion may occur during emergency situations; risks are mitigated by adherence to established safety protocols.
