KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Instruct and lead designated martial arts classes for members.
  • Build positive relationships with participants to tailor classes and promote engagement and program development.
  • Manage class-related tasks, including attendance tracking and necessary documentation.
  • Collaborate with all Fitness staff to ensure a high standard of service for members.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow staff and management to guarantee the successful delivery of programs within established guidelines.
  • Participate in all mandatory departmental meetings and training sessions.
  • Support the Association's mission: "to provide social, physical, and recreational activities and services for members and their families."
  • May be required to undertake additional duties as assigned.
  • Ensure member satisfaction in alignment with the Association's mission.
  • Embrace and embody Four Seasons' Core Values and Vision through actions, behaviors, and performance.
  • Maintain a positive atmosphere for all members, staff, and guests.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must demonstrate and uphold knowledge of, and technical proficiency in, the Shotokan style of martial arts, appropriate to the needs of assigned classes.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Exemplary judgment, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • CPR/AED certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment, to be maintained throughout tenure.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Exhibit a passion for health and wellness.
  • Able to navigate the fitness classroom areas/studios, vocally and physically lead classes, demonstrate martial arts techniques, and maintain a secure environment.
  • Able to manage, wear, and assist participants with martial arts uniforms and safety gear.
  • Able to access all areas of club facilities.
  • Able to visually and audibly monitor participants' activities.
  • Able to communicate effectively with management, staff, and others in person, by telephone, and in writing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Regularly operates within exercise, recreation, and office settings. Frequently exposed to the scents of swimming pools and exercise areas, as well as loud music in cardio zones and fitness studios. Works varying hours and days. Occasionally travels around the community to various organizations. May be exposed to bodily fluids or demanding physical exertion during emergency response situations; risks are minimized by adherence to established safety protocols.
