Job Overview

The Role

The Employment Support Specialist plays a pivotal role in recognizing and overcoming the challenges faced by our participants in securing employment.

By providing timely interventions and tailored support services, this position is dedicated to empowering participants to remain engaged in temporary roles while concentrating on their journey towards permanent employment.

The Specialist manages a caseload of participants, offering essential support services to ensure they are prepared to enter the job market.

Regular monitoring of participant progress is conducted through weekly targeted case management, motivational interviewing, and connections to additional support service agencies.

You demonstrate strong customer service skills and adopt a human-centered approach in your communications with participants.

You are adept at anticipating challenges, assessing them, and implementing effective solutions.

You are proficient with technology, including word processing and internet research, with familiarity in Salesforce being a plus.

You bring 1-2+ years of relevant experience to this role.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Employment Support Specialist include, but are not limited to:

Coaching and Support

Collaborating with team members to ensure that a significant percentage of participants are job-ready.

Guiding participants through essential preparatory activities for employment, such as resume writing, networking, and mock interviews.

Utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to assist participants in achieving their goals.

Maintaining consistent communication with participants to monitor their progress towards interview readiness.

Making appropriate referrals to external agencies as needed and documenting these interactions.

Facilitating group sessions and workshops to enhance employment readiness skills.

Building positive relationships with criminal justice partners in various environments.

Regularly discussing participant progress and status with colleagues.

Engaging participants in ongoing conversations about their employment objectives.
