Position Overview

The Kentucky Personnel Cabinet is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Court Designated Worker. This position is integral to the operations of the Family and Juvenile Services sector, providing essential support within the juvenile justice system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and process public and status offense complaints involving minors.
  • Coordinate placements for juveniles detained by law enforcement authorities.
  • Conduct initial assessments on complaints lodged against youth.
  • Advise on formal proceedings or alternative resolutions.
  • Develop and oversee diversion agreements tailored to individual cases.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Compile and analyze statistical data related to juvenile cases.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Education: Associate's Degree required.

Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant professional experience is necessary. Alternatively, a High School Diploma combined with three years of related work experience may be considered.

Special Skills: Candidates should possess a solid understanding of juvenile delinquency concepts and the juvenile justice framework. Strong interpersonal communication and writing abilities are essential. Experience in organizing and facilitating program-related meetings and events is also required.

Work Environment

This role involves being on-call and may require working during evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Job functions will be performed in an office setting, and travel may be required.
