Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Livestock Data Technician to join our team at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for collecting and compiling livestock research data, generating reports for livestock managers, and assisting with training livestock handlers on data collection protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and compile livestock research data
  • Input and review data to identify concerns
  • Generate reports for livestock managers and other interested parties
  • Assist with training livestock handlers on data collection protocols
  • Work in both an office and outdoor setting in various weather conditions
  • Work in close proximity to livestock animals
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED plus four years of experience with livestock production and/or data collection
  • Associate degree in agriculture, ag business, livestock production systems, or related field plus two years of experience with livestock production and/or data collection
  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, ag business, livestock production systems, or related field
  • Experience working around livestock animals
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet programs and the ability to learn software systems and/or database programs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with livestock production systems preferred but not required
