Audio Visual Project Manager

What role will you play?
A Project Manager (PM) is accountable for managing the scope, timeline, budget, quality, and client satisfaction of projects from initiation to closure. The PM relies on collaboration with team members to execute project tasks effectively. This role emphasizes clear communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
Daily tasks include managing project communications, scheduling, and overseeing deliverables from various teams. The PM ensures that systems integration projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet high customer satisfaction standards. This position involves continuous improvement of established processes and maintaining strong client relationships.

  • Tracks project status regarding cost, timing, and staffing.
  • Ensures quality and promotes continuous improvement.
  • Coordinates training and project handover to clients.

Complexity:
Each project presents unique challenges, requiring the PM to navigate a complex landscape of system design, site conditions, and stakeholder expectations. Effective communication and management skills are essential for balancing project variables.

Decision-Making Authority:
The PM holds full responsibility for project outcomes, ensuring quality, budget adherence, and client satisfaction. They communicate options to stakeholders and manage decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

Physical Demands:
This role may involve exposure to construction environments. Employees must adhere to safety regulations and use personal protective equipment as required. Physical activities may include standing, climbing, and lifting materials.

Travel Requirements:
Frequent travel to project sites is necessary, with a valid driver's license required. Local travel will constitute the majority of travel needs, with occasional remote travel as required.

Safety Responsibilities:
Employees must maintain safety standards, participate in incident investigations, and conduct safety assessments on project sites.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • PMP certification is preferred; AVIXA CTS certification is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications may be required based on the position's technology focus.
  • Bachelor's degree is desirable.

Experience and Skills:
A minimum of 2 years of project management experience is required, with 3-5 years preferred. Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to resolve complex issues.

Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with audio/video system installations and low voltage electrical projects is advantageous. Strong communication skills are essential.
