ROLE OVERVIEW

The Onsite Audio-Visual Support Specialist will collaborate closely with customers, management, the Global Helpdesk, and SIG teams to deliver exceptional on-site support for AVI-SPL clients at their locations, with the ultimate goal of providing a world-class customer service experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and dismantle conference areas to accommodate customer event requirements.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functionality of customer spaces, including testing and repairing various hardware components.
  • Clean and maintain various AV equipment, such as camera lenses, monitors, and equipment fans.
  • Document job site activities and provide client training on AV technology as necessary.
  • Execute support tasks promptly and with a focus on quality, including meeting support, installing basic AV components, and assisting with video/audio recording as needed.
  • Engage with internal and external teams professionally, reflecting the values of AVI-SPL.
  • Comply with local safety standards during all site duties.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot various audio/video systems.
  • Travel to different job sites as required.

As part of their responsibilities, the Audio-Visual Support Specialist will:

  • Provide direct assistance and training to end users in the operation of AV systems.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance checks and services on AV/VTC systems.
  • Conduct advanced routine maintenance support on all AV systems, including troubleshooting and system fault isolation, projector lamp changes, and filter cleaning.
  • Offer Show Tech Support for planned events, both on-site and remotely, as needed.
  • Work a flexible schedule as required.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as service ticket documentation and maintaining an active status board on system readiness.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with all customer safety and procedural guidelines at all times.
  • Track all maintenance activities from start to finish with proper documentation.
  • Maintain adequate spare parts inventory for rapid problem resolution of routine service issues.
  • Coordinate RMA processing and parts procurement as necessary.
  • Organize outside rental and staging services for special events as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for all AV/VTC systems, including spare parts.

CONSIDERATIONS:

  • AVI-SPL reserves the right to modify work hours and locations as necessary. Work hours may vary based on client needs and may involve travel to various locations in support of the account.
  • This position will primarily operate on customer sites and may involve working in environments similar to construction sites.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential Skills:

  • Effective communication skills with employees, customers, and colleagues.
  • Proficient use of hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner, including soldering and crimping connectors.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Understanding of basic signal flow for audio, video, and control systems.
  • Valid driver's license and a motor vehicle record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 years of audiovisual integration experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal education in Electronics or a related field.
  • Preferred external training includes:
    • AMX Intro to Networking for AV Professionals.
    • Crestron Professional Installation.
    • Exton AV Associate Certification.
    • AVIXA Quick Start to the Audio-Visual Industry.
    • AVIXA CTS General Certification.
