Position Overview:
The Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer plays a crucial role in overseeing instrumentation and control systems while managing the electrical engineering team on various projects. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe and sustainable execution of engineering tasks, maintaining quality standards, managing costs, and adhering to project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer is tasked with the following duties:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of engineers and designers to achieve project objectives.
  • Coordinating and managing project schedules within the Electrical-Instrumentation-Controls Department.
  • Defining project scope, objectives, and work-hour budgets in collaboration with department leadership.
  • Conducting and reviewing engineering analysis and design activities for complex projects based on general specifications.
  • Guiding engineers, designers, and drafters in the preparation of construction documentation.
  • Delivering comprehensive instrumentation and control designs for various systems, including control panels and layout plans, adhering to company standards.
  • Ensuring the technical accuracy and feasibility of final designs.
  • Performing detailed checks of instrumentation design packages according to established procedures.
  • Participating in relevant project meetings and discussions.
  • Preparing and presenting progress reports.
  • Managing project changes in accordance with established protocols.
  • Assisting with procurement, construction, and commissioning processes.
  • Fostering the growth and development of the engineering department.
  • Staying updated on the latest advancements in instrumentation and control engineering.
  • Facilitating effective communication among the engineering team and project stakeholders.
  • Contributing to P&ID documentation, including instrument selection.

Technical and Industry Expertise:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong technical and practical engineering skills, particularly in the polymer sector.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality, accurate, and timely work.
  • A solid understanding of instrumentation and controls engineering principles, along with knowledge of related engineering disciplines.
  • Familiarity with local and international standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in specifying instrumentation for various applications.
  • Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers.
  • Experience in writing control narratives for programming purposes.
  • Competence in Safety Integrated Systems and SIL calculations.
  • Proficiency in engineering-specific software tools.
  • Extensive experience in instrumentation and controls or electrical engineering within a similar industry.
  • Proficient communication skills in English.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
  • Professional engineering registration.
