Job Title: Adjunct Communication Studies Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Communication Studies Instructor to join our team at College of the Canyons. As an Adjunct Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching Communication Studies courses, including Speech Communication, and contributing to the development of our curriculum.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach Communication Studies courses, including Speech Communication, to students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote student learning and success.
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback to students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of curriculum and program initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications:
  • Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Communications.
  • Master's degree in Speech, Speech Broadcasting, Telecommunications, Rhetoric, Communication, Communication Studies, Speech Communication, or Organizational Communication.
  • Bachelor's degree in any of the above fields and a Master's degree in Drama/Theater Arts, Mass Communication, or English.
  • Equivalency: An official transcript documenting successful completion of any Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education and official transcripts documenting successful completion of 24 semester units in the discipline at the upper division and graduate level, a minimum of which must be 12 graduate level semester units.
Working Conditions:

Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes. Adjunct Salary Rate: Starting at $88.30 per hour.
