Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Communication Studies courses at College of the Canyons. The successful candidate will have a strong background in speech communication and the ability to create a dynamic learning environment that values instructor/student interaction.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Communication Studies courses, including speech communication and public speaking
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with departmental goals and objectives
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement innovative teaching methods
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication, or organizational communication
  • OR - Bachelor's degree in any of the above and master's degree in drama/theater arts, mass communication, or English
  • OR - Equivalency: An official transcript documenting successful completion of any Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education and official transcripts documenting successful completion of 24 semester units in the discipline at the upper division and graduate level
Working Conditions

Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes. Adjunct Salary Rate: Starting at $88.30 per hour.
