Job Opportunity

The Department of Film and Media Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara is seeking a part-time academic instructor to teach two courses in the academic year, one in Fall and one in Spring quarter.

Position Overview

The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching two courses in film and media theory and analysis, as well as introductory cinema. The instructor will also contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach two courses in the academic year, one in Fall and one in Spring quarter
  • Develop and teach courses in film and media theory and analysis
  • Develop and teach courses in introductory cinema
  • Contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service
Qualifications
  • PhD in Film and Media Studies or a related field
  • One or more years of teaching experience at university or college level
  • Expertise in the critical study of film and/or media and experience teaching in at least one area of disciplinary focus
