Job Overview

Oversee the daily activities of manufacturing facilities to guarantee reliability and uniformity on the production floor. This role significantly influences departmental functions and is accountable for planning and execution. While the position allows for some independence, it primarily emphasizes the implementation of tasks within established operational guidelines and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties
  • Manage and supervise front-line production staff, typically overseeing hourly workforce.
  • Acquire comprehensive knowledge of a specific technical area, utilizing previous experience and technical skills to implement policies and strategies.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of crucial business factors; leverage this knowledge to achieve personal objectives. Understand how the work of the team integrates with other departments and contributes to overall success.
  • Exercise judgment and propose alternative solutions within set guidelines, with appropriate guidance. Apply prior experience and on-the-job training to address straightforward challenges. Access necessary technical skills and analytical thinking to resolve issues, potentially utilizing various internal resources.
  • This position is likely to be filled by an individual contributor with strong interpersonal abilities or an emerging leader capable of recruiting and nurturing talent. Provide informal mentorship to new team members.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in machining or supervisory roles.
