POSITION SUMMARY

The Security Control Assessor Representative (SCA-R) / Dedicated Team Lead plays a crucial role in collaborating with assigned Project Managers to comprehend the mission objectives, security frameworks, deployment sites, and any forthcoming modifications to the program. This role entails conducting cybersecurity evaluations and risk assessments. The primary objective of the SCA-R support is to execute SCA-R/team lead responsibilities within the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process. Each team lead will oversee approximately 25 programs, which may involve supporting various Department of Defense (DoD) entities. This position is based onsite.
  • Required Certifications: CISM, CISSP, GSLC, CCISO
  • Travel Requirements: 20% travel both within and outside the continental United States
  • Security Clearance: Must possess a DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are essential to the role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

- Integrate core competencies into daily operations, emphasizing integrity, quality of work, financial objectives, and strong interpersonal relationships.
- Lead a team in performing certification assessments for designated programs, including the evaluation of change requests, ports, protocols, services, and compliance statements.
- Conduct thorough reviews of systems and enclaves, facilitating in-briefs and out-briefs with relevant personnel, ensuring documentation is submitted promptly.
- Present findings and recommendations to various stakeholders, including site commanders and government leadership.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay updated on procedural changes.
- Utilize a variety of tools for assessments and reporting, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
- Conduct security architecture evaluations to verify adherence to best practices and STIG requirements.
- Develop tailored checklists based on specific security architectures and deployment guidelines.
- Analyze Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) to assess residual risks and ensure adequate mitigation strategies are in place.
- Perform risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities, recommending appropriate countermeasures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience in IT or cybersecurity.
- Minimum of seven years of experience in a federal program environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows/Office and Microsoft Project is essential.

CERTIFICATIONS

- Must hold a 8570 DOD IAM-III level certification, such as CISM, CISSP, GSLC, or CCISO.
- Security clearance is mandatory, subject to background investigation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position primarily operates in an office setting, requiring regular sitting and use of hands for various tasks. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be necessary. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
