Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fiber Operations Technician to join our team at Uniti. As a key member of our Splicing Command and Control team, you will be responsible for optimizing system operation and resource utilization, performing network system analysis and planning, and providing assistance and guidance to Splicers and Technicians in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor critical paths and systems that comprise the Uniti Network, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization.
  • Escalate issues from NOC Tier 1, providing timely and effective solutions to ensure minimal disruption to our services.
  • Develop expertise in multiple NMS/EMS systems and network platforms, including devices at Layer 1, 2, and 3 within the network.
  • Provide primary support to our Splicers and Technicians, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Assist with circuit writing and provisioning responsibilities in areas of the network, ensuring seamless integration and minimal downtime.
Requirements
  • 2-5 years of NOC experience or equivalent, with a strong understanding of network systems and operations.
  • College degree not required, but a plus, particularly in the field of IS/IT.
  • Certifications in various platforms and technologies a plus, demonstrating your commitment to staying up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Logical thought and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Customer-focused with de-escalation skills, able to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment, handling multiple tasks and responsibilities with ease.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, with flexibility to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, with overtime as needed.
