Job Overview

Technical Source is seeking a seasoned Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our team in Research Triangle Park, NC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation, instrumentation, and control panel hardware/wiring. The engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, improving, and ensuring the reliability of process and utility equipment. The role involves specifying instruments, developing standards, and leading I&C projects in a GMP environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in control panel hardware/wiring, instrumentation, and automation.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and develop control systems for equipment calibration and process reliability.
  • Support design, installation, and qualification of new automation equipment, including writing and executing validation protocols.
  • Manage large engineering projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve existing processes.
  • Work with control systems (PLCs, DeltaV, SCADA) for process improvement and system upgrades.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, any discipline.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in instrumentation and control systems.
  • Practical knowledge of FDA GMP and EMA regulations.
  • Experience with a variety of control systems and HMIs, with the ability to program/configure these systems.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and instrumentation datasheets/schematics.
  • Experience with enterprise/IT systems and demonstrated competency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work extended shifts or weekends as required.
