As a Senior Instrument Craftsman, you will play a critical role in designing, constructing, and repairing complex scientific and clinical instruments. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the precision and accuracy of our instruments, which will be used in cutting-edge research and clinical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and construct complex instruments using precision lathes, milling machines, and other specialized equipment

Work under general supervision to plan and prepare drawings for construction of new instruments

Make complex repairs, adjustments, or calibrations to malfunctioning instruments and equipment

Inspect completed work for accuracy and compliance with pertinent safety codes

Consult with scientific or clinical customers regarding construction and modification of equipment

Provide technical instruction and guidance to students and faculty

Minimum Qualifications:

General background in machine shop equipment operation and metal or plastic work

Three years of experience as an Instrument Maker or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
