MedStar Medical Group is seeking a Revenue Cycle Manager for Procedural Areas to enhance our operational efficiency.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing revenue cycle activities, including billing and coding processes for the Cardiac-Arrhythmia Center. You will lead the billing and charge entry teams, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements while optimizing revenue cycle performance. Your expertise will be crucial in facilitating patient scheduling, registration, and all billing functions, including charge entry reconciliation and third-party reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures related to revenue cycle functions across procedural areas.
- Oversee daily billing entry and reconciliation processes, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
- Manage the billing staff and collaborate with department leaders on personnel matters related to revenue cycle support.
- Provide training and guidance to healthcare providers and billing staff on accurate charge capture and documentation.
- Work closely with Compliance to address auditing requests and resolve any discrepancies.
- Stay informed on reimbursement optimization strategies and regulatory changes, training staff accordingly.
- Maximize revenue through effective insurance verification, authorizations, and collections.
- Maintain strong collaborative relationships with finance and patient financial services departments.
- Initiate and refine billing policies, conducting audits to identify and rectify errors.
- Analyze reimbursement trends and implement solutions to enhance revenue collection.
- Conduct audits of documentation and coding to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Review codes and fees annually, ensuring all billing forms are current.
- Participate in clinical value analysis teams to assess new procedures and maximize reimbursement opportunities.
- Develop performance metrics for staff and oversee their professional development.
- Manage procedural denials and develop processes to prevent future occurrences.
- Oversee coding and device edits management for the facility.
- Ensure compliance with supply processes requiring regulatory approvals.
- Continuously audit documentation and coding for accuracy and timeliness.
Qualifications
- Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare preferred.
- 3-4 years of progressively responsible experience in revenue cycle management.
This position offers a competitive salary range.
