We are seeking a driven and experienced Senior Market Insights Analyst to join our Consumer, UX, & Market Insights team at Whole Foods Market.
In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with producing market and business insights that support various stakeholders across Whole Foods Market.
This position will collaborate with other analytical teams within Whole Foods Market to provide strategic and analytical assistance for both routine and special requests.
Your responsibilities will include delivering a comprehensive perspective on market and business performance, utilizing both internal and external data sources such as NielsenIQ.
Moreover, you will play a key role in enhancing business analytics and working closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address any deficiencies in analytical processes and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver strategic insights by providing data-driven, actionable recommendations that benefit leadership and key partner teams at Whole Foods Market.
Act as a liaison to integrate strategic insights and formulate hypotheses; serve as a primary contact for technology partners and data science teams; and facilitate insights across Whole Foods Market.
Understand and activate business impact levers (promotions, pricing, product offerings, customer engagement, etc.) while leveraging third-party competitive analysis tools, customer behavior metrics, and data science methodologies.Lead collaboration with business partners, including external entities, to pinpoint gaps in analytical processes and reporting; subsequently, work with various teams to address these gaps and influence decision-making throughout the organization, often requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Effectively synthesize and communicate complex data and analyses through well-crafted written documents and presentations.Essential Skills:
Proven ability to lead projects across multiple functions. Capacity to organize initiatives for knowledge sharing within the team and the broader community.
Ability to translate complex data and analyses for all organizational levels – including C-Suite executives – to generate market insights that drive actionable outcomes.
Exceptional presentation skills to convey information and address inquiries in both one-on-one interactions and group presentations involving senior leadership.Demonstrated intellectual and analytical curiosity – a proactive approach to exploring the underlying reasons behind various results.
Proven expertise in employing advanced analytical techniques to uncover patterns, relationships, and trends across diverse data sources.
Ability to synthesize complex data from multiple sources to create a narrative that is accessible to a wide audience. Passion for developing clear visualizations that lead to actionable insights for various stakeholder groups.
Experience in querying data from large enterprise databases and crafting new code to address complex business inquiries.
Experience in utilizing data science models to extract necessary insights.
Self-motivated, innovative thinker with a keen attention to detail.

Qualifications:
Experience with market syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, Numerator), shopper insights solutions, visual analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau), and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with data fundamentals, structure, and relationships.
Experience in analyzing reports and visualizing data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvements and find solutions.
Project Management experience and the ability to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders.Proficiency in SQL is required.
Knowledge of retail operations, including pricing, merchandising, financial operations, profitability drivers, and reporting is a significant advantage.
Willingness to travel occasionally.A sense of humor is essential.
Education & Experience:
A BA/BS degree with 6-8+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Analytical Business Specialty, Marketing Research, or equivalent retail experience is preferred. An MS or MBA is a plus.
