Kal Krishnan Consulting Services, Inc. (KKCS) is a leading provider of construction management and program management services. We are seeking a highly skilled CBTC Training Specialist to join our team in Oakland, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze proposals, plans, and designs from design build contractors and their subcontractors to identify procedural and technical risks.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements and coordinate between the CBTC project, BART stakeholders, and external systems to identify and assess training needs.
  • Interface with design build contractors' management and engineers, as well as all BART stakeholders, to support the CBTC design, training & operational readiness, and deployment working groups.
  • Provide support for change management and organizational readiness activities.

Requirements

  • A strategic thinker with good organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to perform analysis and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of rail industry standards, practices, and regulations is desirable.
  • Experience in rail transit signaling and train control systems (desirable) or experience in projects in other industries.
  • Experienced in change management and organizational readiness.
  • Capacity to understand technical documents such as operations & maintenance manuals, training course materials, and training plans.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret the logical sequencing of work within project schedules.
  • Experience in developing and/or delivering training materials to large businesses.
  • Experience in working with organizations subject to collective bargaining rules (desirable).
  • Familiar with or willing to learn how to use computer-based training (CBT) authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate for creating e-learning content (desirable).
  • Participation in design, installation, testing, and commissioning phases of projects (desirable).
  • Familiar with international and multicultural projects (desirable).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Able to communicate and engage with stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure client needs are met and understood by the project.
  • Experience in performing reviews to ensure technical and functional specifications are met for training simulation equipment.
  • Familiar with traditional and modern training processes.
  • 5 or more years' experience in project management (desirable), change management, training development/delivery, technical writing, and/or operations management/consulting, ideally with experience in the rail sector.
  • Experience working for operations or management consulting firms (desired).
  • Bachelor's degree or 7-10 years' experience as a training specialist in the rail industry.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to oversee the design and implementation of effective training and development.
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
