Position Summary

The primary objective of this role is to deliver essential administrative processes, technical expertise, and guidance as outlined. This position is crucial in enhancing Fluor's competitive edge in the global market by providing superior services characterized by exceptional value and technical proficiency. The incumbent will act as an Area Lead or Lead on designated projects or tackle complex engineering tasks, assessing, selecting, and implementing advanced engineering methodologies across a variety of intricate assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct calculations for foundations, concrete, and steel structures utilizing both manual and computerized methods.
  • Perform hydrologic analysis and hydraulic design, along with geotechnical engineering assessments.
  • Execute boundary and topographical surveying (civil) and analyze complex structural systems.
  • Evaluate wind and seismic loading in structural computations.
  • Engage in dynamic analysis and design, including computer modeling and structural analysis.
  • Review vendor drawings and facilitate intergroup checks.
  • Verify engineering and fabrication drawings.
  • Maintain a foundational understanding of Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems and procedures.
  • Adhere to NQA-1 Requirements and perform additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A four-year accredited degree or global equivalent in an engineering discipline and a minimum of ten years of relevant work experience.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with diverse audiences, including management, colleagues, clients, and contractors.
  • Technical knowledge pertinent to the role.
  • The ability to learn and apply local, state, and federal regulations.
  • A detail-oriented approach and the capability to work efficiently under time constraints.
  • Professional registration and membership in a relevant technical society (preferred).
  • Advanced understanding of discipline codes, standards, and material costs.
  • Experience in estimating effort-hours and forecasting staffing needs.
  • Leadership experience in managing large-scale projects.
  • Practical field experience and proficiency in computer software, including word processing and spreadsheets.

Additional Information

Proof of US Citizenship is required. Experience with heavy concrete structures is essential, and a degree along with 5-15 years of engineering practice is mandatory. Nuclear facility design experience is preferred, as is proficiency in ACAD.
