Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Assist patients with dialysis treatment, including setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, monitoring vital signs, and providing education on dialysis procedures.
- Treatment Preparation: Prepare patients for treatment, including taking vital signs, weighing patients, and preparing dialysis machines.
- Lab Testing: Collect and process lab samples, including blood and urine samples, for testing.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, including ordering and stocking of supplies.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document patient information, including treatment data, vital signs, and lab results.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; PCT national certification or state-specific certification preferred.
- Experience: At least two years of previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment; basic math skills and ability to accurately document patient information.
The Patient Care Specialist will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with frequent exposure to blood and other bodily fluids. The position requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 30 pounds, and pushing/pulling equipment.
