Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care North America. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients undergoing dialysis therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with their dialysis treatment, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the registered nurse or supervisor.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by the physician or nurse.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on dialysis equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on dialysis-related topics, such as medication management and lifestyle changes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid PCT national certification or state-specific certification as defined by the Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS).
  • At least two years of previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
