Position Summary:
The Electrical Safety Supervisor is responsible for establishing and executing protocols, policies, and tools to enhance and guarantee the health and safety of all personnel at Kuharchik Construction.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Manages the organization's safety and security initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifies strategies to reduce workplace injuries, accidents, and equipment theft.
- Evaluates safety apparatus; suggests replacements when necessary.
- Offers expert advice on best practices for recognizing and mitigating hazardous conditions.
- Conducts site visits and engages with employees to pinpoint safety hazards and issues.
- Prepares reports that outline hazardous practices, equipment, and other risks for management assessment.
- Reviews, updates, and enforces the organization's safety and security policies and procedures.
- Assesses current safety training programs and recommends necessary revisions and enhancements.
- Creates and implements a system for reporting, monitoring, and addressing safety concerns.
- Collaborates with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) representatives during audits and inspections; documents corrective measures taken.
- Adopts a proactive stance on maintaining a safe workplace; provides training and resources to employees through safety bulletins, documentation, and training sessions.
- Stays informed about hazard prevention and safety best practices, equipment, and advancements.
- Oversees the operation of vehicle and equipment tracking software and conducts physical inspections to ensure all vehicles and equipment are equipped with GPS Tracking Devices.
- Conducts investigations into asset loss incidents.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of company safety protocols and relevant Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Capability to recognize unsafe situations or potential hazards.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical principles and health and safety regulations.
- Extensive familiarity with current company safety policies and applicable OSHA standards.
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline is required.
- Successful completion of the OSHA 30 Certification.
- OSHA DOL Card.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a construction setting is required.
Physical Demands:
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Willingness to travel to job sites for visual inspections of safety practices and conditions.
