Job Summary

The Mechanical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the construction of large and/or multiple smaller scale projects. These projects may be mechanical or multi-disciplined, and the manager must ensure they are completed within the established construction budget to meet customer satisfaction and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical project management, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical project management and estimating. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is also required.

The Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for managing the handling of material and labor to ensure timely and smooth-running projects. They will also assist in the training of Project Supervisors, Project Foremen, and Technicians, and set an example of excellence in work and attitude that will positively impact all personnel on the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports.
  • Create, maintain, and follow a construction schedule, assigning personnel to complete the project on schedule and within budget.
  • Determine and advise on local laws concerning items such as landfills, carting companies, local mechanical codes, and permitting.
  • Ensure safety practices are followed and the work is performed in a safe and productive manner.
  • Possess the ability to efficiently manage multiple energy efficiency projects concurrently.
  • Prepare and deliver performance evaluations for project foremen and technicians, and discipline, train, and/or counsel assigned personnel as needed.
  • Maintain effective communications at all levels, including internal and external resources, and provide timely updates to clients, PowerSecure Executives, subcontractors, agents of code enforcement/permitting, engineers, architects, and employees across various trades.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a High school diploma or GED.
  • PMP certification (preferred).
  • 5 years' experience in electrical project management and estimating.
  • 5 years' experience in electrical work.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel extensively (80%) to project sites for extended periods of time.
  • OSHA 30 (if not already certified, arrangements will be made for training).
