Your Role: As the Financial Close Optimization Lead in Technology Transformation, you will be instrumental in supporting the SAP Advanced Financial Close (AFC) platform, which is Clorox's innovative financial close management solution.

This position will oversee essential close processes within AFC and spearhead the continuous enhancement of the tool and associated processes.

Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the Canada Accounting close team to provide ongoing Record to Report (RTR) support during their initial year of implementing the new systems and processes from Project Vista.


Key Responsibilities:

Enhance AFC Stabilization and Optimization:
  • Act as a liaison between AFC business end users and the IT Support team to improve process efficiency.
  • Manage the financial close template, including the monthly release of the close task list, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Onboard new AFC users and provide troubleshooting support for end-user experiences.
  • Conduct and support specific SOX control activities.
  • Serve as the primary contact for identifying opportunities to enhance close efficiency.
  • Lead the ongoing optimization of the AFC platform to streamline and automate close processes while promoting best practices.
  • Oversee the implementation of future AFC version updates and related change management initiatives.

Support Canada Accounting Close and Optimization:
  • Offer ad hoc assistance and guidance to RTR teams in Canada following their go-live, as required.
  • Document and communicate issues to project teams, collaborating to find solutions.
  • Identify challenges from Wave 1 and drive improvements in Wave 2.
  • Regularly update leadership on progress and developments.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred but not mandatory.
  • Prior experience in accounting close optimization, consolidations, internal controls, SAP, or ERP implementation is advantageous.

  • Comprehend the financial closing process and its impact on financial statements.
